Gimme a bunch of mates, who want to share their passion for original Reggae & Soul at the best club on this planet, Sedel – The Club in our home town Luzern. Rude Attack was born! After some do’s, we went into promoting gigs & released a handful of records as well. Our aim was to present contemporary bands, which keep the 60’s Ska/Reggae/Soul flag flying.

After some years unfortunately, our original core member Andy left the crew. It was quite a loss, so the remaining members Witschi and Jefy decided to stop as gig promoter. So, we went back to put on Reggae & Soul do’s with the intention to invite one (international) guest DJ each and every do.

Over the years and with our countless trips to the UK, the wish to build an own Sound System grew more and more. Finally, in 2014 we managed to realise our dream together with Rouven, another long-term Reggae aficionado. Now, it’s 2023 and the Rude Attack train keeps on rolling, already for 23 years!

To keep the soul flag flying high, Marcus K has been hosting soul nighters in Darmstadt, Germany, since 2001 – followed by 10 years as a resident for soul parties at the Red Cat Club (Mainz, Germany) and at Stereobar (Frankfurt/Main, Germany). Since 2010, Marcus K keeps the nightlife of Darmstadt swinging with the event „Topshake Soulknights“ for which he also invites guest DJs from the scene.

Over the years, Marcus K has been allowed to put on a few records at soul nighters all over Germany. But not only there: He has also deejayed at nighters with his soulful colleagues in Finland, Latvia, Belgium and Brazil.
And the sound? As a rule, it doesn’t leave a dry eye or anyone sitting for long: From R’n’B to Northern Soul to Garage, the sets make for happy faces on the dance floor. And the drink turnover is usually right, too.

The “Funky Fever” series was launched almost 25 years ago in the Bar 57 with Dj Black Virus and experienced – thanks to DJ Murphy – its revival in the Bar 59.

Now Funky Fever has been inviting for over 12 years almost all Funk and Soul DJs from Switzerland as a guest. Even some international DJs rocked the turntables, such as Tobias Kyrmaier (DE), Mr. Thing (UK), Boca 45 (UK), Skeme Richards (US), Amir Abdullah (US), Amerigo Gazeway (US) or Mirko Machine (DE).

Another highlights were the performances by the bands «Breakestra» (US), den «Mighty Mocambos» (DE) and the «James Brown Tribute Show».

Behind the label are the vinyl freaks DJ Murphy, Dan and Wab who you can meet for a chat with beer also every Wednesday in the Haifish Bar in Lucerne (or at the Co-Mix Remix record store of course). The Funky Fever lives the motto “Save The Vinyl” and remains an event for Funk and Soul freaks, for breakdancers, for old school rap lovers and for those who like to move to Black Music. Boom!
